The French Property Buyer's Guide claims to be - and I quote -" the indispensable guide to find and buy your place in France "." That is very proud, so is it fair to be? Can you demystify the French house buying process?

One could say that I am exactly the kind of person who the book is aimed at an English-speakers in France. Although there are a number of years since we bought our French home I remember the difficulties we had, so I thought it would be interesting to see how someone else, and the suggestions they made.

It seems that the time has passed, many of the challenges remain. There was not the number of sites where we buy, but most of the other difficulties, the people seem to be exactly the same as it was then.

I'm sure the author does not thank me, that some of his little secrets in this article, but it is clear that he spent considerable time in France and "gone through the mill".

It is interesting and very useful, I think the book starts with what he calls a "Tour de France" "in the various regions. As he rightly points out, France is a great place, it is unlikely that many of us have the ability, all of it. I did not, and I live here!

The "tour" is a little insight into each area. It is quite honestly say that only and of course it would be impossible to every detail in a few dozen pages. What it does do is a taste, if you are not, for example, how mountains, there is little sense to go the parts of the Rhone-Alps. If you do not like Les Landes forest will not be for you.

From there the book moves to the actual process of buying a property - whether for investment, such as a vacation retreat or a permanent move. It suggests places to start your search and a few things to consider. How to arrange to see and the problems that you can find. It delves into some details in the actual process of making an offer, and what you are letting themselves in and follow this with the actual buying and what to do after you have proved successful.

Finally, there is a section on exchange rates, which are of crucial importance, if you outside the "euro-zone countries. There is a page with some useful websites and at the end of a report on the visit which you can print out that you display on your current journey.

Author Seems Jeff has a friendly writing style, which you feel like you discuss what to do with a friend. Although it covers many aspects of buying a house in France all the necessary detail, it seems not, as you are wading through masses of complicated technical. If necessary he can with a French word, but it is only to illustrate or entertain, not to confuse or intimidate.

The French Property Buyer's Guide may not be the only source that you see when you are considering buying a property in France - I know that the author agrees. It contains a lot of very useful information, is easy to understand and is very good value for money. I would definitely recommend a copy before you on a journey to buy property in France.
